How to Make a Short Film

  1. With all film making, a first step would be to brainstorm/plan what the story would consist of.

2. After brainstorming ideas for the film a next step would be to finalise the genre of the film (whether it would be a documentary, horror, drama etc)

3.Once the genre of the film is chosen, it then allows for a final story line to be pieced together and a script to be written. With this, roles should be discussed amongst people within the film to decide who is more adapted to a particular character.

4.After the characters are chosen, the script is written and a storyline is finally discussed, framing for the film should begin. This consists of a storyboard being produced to show the animations of characters within a scene and how each will follow through the next scene, showing the different actions/events throughout until the film comes to an ending.

5.Once the storyboard is completed, a process known as scheduling can begin. This is where a plan is made of where each scene will be shot, what clothes may be needed for the character and more.

6. After planning, filming can finally begin!
