Production of a film research

Within a film there are various members of the cast and crew that help create the media product. Within the opening titles, the cast and crew are mentioned for their contribution. This is something I recognised as an important factor in film openings. I decided to feature the various cast and crew in the film sequences as it is an emulation of an existing media product. Through my research of title sequence, all of the films featured a vast amount of contributors to the film. Originally we had our group members names with a standard introduction of director, editor and starring. This narrowed the amount of time the titles were on screen for, something that isn't verisimilitude to existing film openings.
Research of Cast and Crew of a film
The main roles of a film production is Director and Producer.
The Director has creative control on various aspects of the film until completion of the production of the media product. The Producer has a similar role, however it organizes and controls the production area of the film.

Heads of Department
Line producer: The line producer ensures that the film is completed on time and is on budget.

Director of photography: The DOP is in control of how certain elements are shot and lit.

Production designer: They are in charge of the production design and set.

Gaffer: Chief lighting technician.

1st assistant director: Runs the set how the director demands.

Editor: Edits the film together

Production manger: Organizes the cast and crew and everything on set.

Sound recordist:  In charge of the sound elements of the production.

Additional Crew
Depending on the scale of the production, some media productions need more crew than others, these can include:

Focus Puller: In charge of focusing the camera

Clapper loader: Loads the camera, takes care of the stock and records each take.

Location manager: Finds and secures locations

Continuity/Script supervisor: Makes sure the shots are consistent

Boom operator: Holds the boom and ensures that the microphone is near as possible to the actors without being in the shot.

Sparks: Lighting technician

Costume Designer: Designs, purchases and manages costumes.

Hair/ Make up designer: Designs and executes makeup and hair.

Within our production we found that we would have limited crew due to the fact there was only four members in our group. We collectively decided that makeup and hair would be a necessity to our production along with, editor, location manager, director, producer and focus puller. To half the time of makeup we all helped with each other and also individually did the hair and makeup. I was in charge of locations and quickly organized the locations featured within our film. The costume designer for our film was hired due to the fact we did not have the time to purchase and design outfit's for the characters to wear. We also used music that existed to create an original soundtrack in garage band, this allowed us  to effectively complete our film  to the deadline.

In the final film we featured:
Director
Producer
Editor
Actors
Sound
Costume designer
Co producer

The selection of these cast and crew allowed us to create a media product with aspects of an existing media product. The feature of costume designer and music by gives the impression that our media product has been organized efficiently and successfully.
