Radio Trailer Research

Radio trailers are significantly important in terms of persuading various audiences to watch a certain film/programme etc.  As the name suggests, radio trailers are distributed through the radio therefore requires more auditory elements as nothing visual can be shown. In order to produce a successful radio trailer it should include the following:

·         Voice over with pieces of sounds/speech from the film

·         Information at the end of the trailer regarding viewing and certificate

·         A slogan to the film

·         Sounds effects/music when appropriate

A radio trailer will be played throughout various radio stations, depending on what content is included, for example a trailer for an animated film (e.g Disney) would not be ideally be played on Kerrang Fm.  All advertisements are shown through a certain radio channel in terms of its audience, however, short films are commonly shown through short film festivals, and therefore it is more likely advertisements for feature films are played on the radio.
