research into science fiction

Science fiction films are science based depictions of of phenomena that isn't accepted by the wider society, such as aliens, time travel and extraterrestrial life forms, and also incorporates futuristic elements such as space, robots and time travel along with other technologies. Science fictions are usually made to proecty on political or social issues that also explore philosophical issues. Science fiction films asre more than likely set in the future and traditionally they will incoprote heroes, villains and unexplored locations and advanced technology.

They are different sub genres of science fiction and one of them is an Apocalyptic film.

These films usually revolve around a disaster such as a nuclear war, alien invasion or a natural disaster. Technological development usually has a huge part in these films as a source of conflict, and an apocalyptic view of the world.

Time travel film is also a sub genre and as stated in its name, these films centers around the concept of time travel. These films can explore traditional time travel through futuristic devices or space-time travel. they tend to explore the concept of alternate histories, alternate realities as well as parallel universes.

mutants and monsters is another example of a sub genre in science fiction, this sub-genre contains a monster or mutant that derives from a scientific explanation.These films can contain a scientific experiment or accident that produces a problem within society. Mutants can be created from technology and take the form of robots and technologically advanced beings.

Dystopian films focus on the upset state of the world. These films take place in the future and feature a world that is overrun with violence, oppression or disease.  This sub-genre often holds the same themes and characteristics of a post-apocalyptic film. Dystopian films tend to include dehumanization, the repression of individuality, and uniformity at the cost of human rights.
