Shooting Pack

Today we began our pre-production schedule which involved researching possible locations around the town center. It was important to find locations suitable to travel to and ensure it was safe to film as there are many factors that can make it potentially unsafe for us. The location we found today was the underground toilets which are not commonly used, however, it is important for us to do a risk assessment as it is a public place and we understand the importance of gaining permission to film in a risky location where people may be captured on camera.  We aim to make the films locations for the playback tapes seem illegal and sleazy, we have decided to film in the old underground toilets as they appear disused and gives the audience the sense of what they are doing is not legal and juxtaposes the idea that it is a professional business. Today we contacted the local council and found that the toilets close at 4:30 PM and are allowed to use them for filming purposes only after the initial closing time. This is beneficial for filming as we wont be disturb the public and it is safer for production. The risks we identified ranges from the cameras being stolen, a member of the public or crew injuring themselves to damaging the location or camera in the small environment we are shooting in. It was vital to take pictures of the locations in order to create a photograph story board of our locations and then schedule filming time accordingly after each location has been successfully found, photographed and assessed for potential risks. 

This is the entrance to the underground toilets. we aim to shoot the protagonist entering the toilets with clients to whom she then discusses the virtual experiences they can have via the playback tapes. 

The luminescent light will aid our lighting for the scenes within the toilets. We particularly liked how the toilet doors were solid wood, it will allow us to create a closed off environment.  We aim to shoot an exterior shot of the toilets and an interior shot of the toilet as it is disgusting looking and will be the perfect background for when Vera tells her clients about the Playback Tapes.
