The Nostalgist Plot Summary
In the futuristic city of Vanille, with properly tuned ImmerSyst Eyes & Ears the world can look and sound like a paradise. But the life of a father and his young son threatens to disintegrate when the father's device begins to fail. Desperate to avoid facing his own traumatic reality, the man must venture outside to find a replacement, into a city where violence and danger lurk beneath a skim of beautiful illusion.

Similar to our film because...'The Nostalgist' is similar to our film idea as again, it is the idea of a fantasy world. Despite our film not being an imagery world, it has aspects in relation to this as the tapes included in our film are a way of living a life that is opposite to the life that is currently being lived by that individual. In 'The Nostalgist', the device that the father is in possession of begins to fail; similarly to ours as during our film, the main character is at risk of being caught with illegal tapes therefore is at risk of suffering harsh punishment; placing both characters in a similar situation that could end in violence.
