During the As year, the case study, Four Lions used the internet to gain funding and also used the internet to reach a wider audience on a global scale. The ways in which the film achieved this was via a website which has information about the film, the trailer and comments from the director and also the option to purchase franchise from the film. Websites can be accessed around the world and therefore reaches a wider audience. This allows the film to become widely recognised among audiences and can generate an interest in the film due to the  information provided. Most films produced from 2010 onward, will have a website that provides information about the film, usually created before the release. The website can be interactive for audiences which is more visual than hearing about the film from another source. For example, a film website may have a game feature which the audience can be become involved with or access behind the scenes footage.
To create a website you must first find a web host which is basically a location for your website to be stored. Web hosts are usually available for a monthly fee which will pay for the maintenance of the website and the service to create a domain name and easily install popular content management systems such as Wordpress. A content management system is an application which builds a websites content and aims to manage the websites Images, videos, etc. You must also have a domain name which is the identity of the website, for example our films domain could be Playbackmovie.co.uk.
What film websites typically contain:

• A trailer
• Release date
• The plot and information
• Awards/critics opinion
• Names of the cast and crew
• Images and footage form the film
• Social Media buttons

Websites commonly feature a splash page which is the first thing the audience sees first before being given the option to continue to the main content of the site. The splash page will also feature an animation, ranging from a character video clip or the trailer of the film along with sound, possibly the films soundtrack. My bloody Valentine official website and splash page features the same image of the figure with the gas mask and hatchet, this is to indicate that it will be a significant part in the film. I decided this was an interesting element as it allows the audience to see what will be an important part in the film, I used this aspect within my website to highlight the Playback Technology.

I decided to create a website for the short film as it is a method of advertising existing products use in order to offer the audience with information about the film. I used a standard website builder to create prototype of a website. I was able to select a template and add additional elements of my own.

I was able to change the position and size of fonts on the homepage and where they would lead to if clicked on.
